Nicole Voillat Bata Global Sustainability & Bata Children’s Program Director
Sustainability expert with more than 17 years of experience, advising, supporting and catalyzing change within major corporations and non- profit organizations by integrating sustainable development, human rights and environmental protection to accelerate the growth of sustainable enterprises.
Nicole joined Bata in 2011 and since then has set up the sustainability program as well as the Bata Children’s Program Foundation from scratch and successfully defined and implemented the company’s sustainability strategy over 4 full cycles. She has also initiated and published the first Sustainability Review 2013 and the second in 2015, in line with the Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI) guidelines, introduced the Bata Supplier Code of Conduct and created the social audit framework and standard operating procedure for Bata manufacturing facilities and supply chain. During her time at Bata Brands Nicole further coordinated and co-created social enterprises such as the Rural Sales Program in Bangladesh and Women’s Empowerment program in Zimbabwe for which Bata has been nominated in the prestigious UN Business Call for Action group in 2015.
Previously Nicole worked as sustainability consultant for private and non-profit sector, as manager for the Business Leader for Nature program at the World Conservation Union, as senior consultant for the Business Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN). Before that Nicole worked for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in 7 countries (Israel/West Bank, Lebanon, South Africa, Syria, Pakistan, Kenya and Russia) as a delegate and head of regional operation at the HQ in Geneva.
