Wendy Asbeek Brusse is director of IOB, the evaluation department of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Wendy has worked at various positions at the nexus of research, policy-making and policy-evaluation. Before her appointment to IOB in June 2015, she was director of the Netherlands Scientific Council for Government Policy (WRR). She also worked as a senior policy advisor to the Chief Scientist and as senior policy advisor on social integration at the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Housing. She also held various research and teaching positions: as a senior researcher at the WRR, as a lecturer and researcher in International relations at the University of Groningen and as lecturer in economic history at the University of Leiden. An economic historian by training, she obtained her PhD from the European University Institute in Florence, Italy.
